March Maddness

Long over due for an update. I read my last post and just realized how far Tristan has come in the last 8 months. He has been receiving speech therapy once a week here at home. He is using words along with sign language to communicate with us. It's very nice! Although he still prefers pouting at times. His vocabulary makes me very happy and he learns new things everyday...Today it was 'Hot dog'. =) It is fun and amazing at the same time to watch him explore. He seems to learn better on his own from trial and error rather than me showing/teaching him. In most cases anyhow.

John is loving the night shift at work and has adjusted well to sleeping during the day. The only day we have off together is Saturday. Luckily we see each other on weeknights when I get off and before he goes in.

We have made it to week 36 with Emma. My doctor seems to think that Emma will be born before April 23, her due date. He says that she is very low and that my cervix is very soft. 50% effaced. I am trying to take it as easy as possible in hopes that she will hold out a few more days. I would like for her to be born in April, but will take anything I get. This pregnancy has been an adventure, much different than my first. I am ready for it to be over though. I feel like I have been pregnant for a year.

We have finally found a house here in Colorado that we hope to be closing on soon. It is still being built and should be complete on or about April 15th, 2010. Wish us luck!

In a Nut Shell

Well those are all the pictures I have for now. I hope that you enjoy them! As far as updates there are a few things. Tristan at 19 months still isn't talking. We aren't 100% sure why he has decided to take the oath of silence, but we have been told by his doctor that it is time to look into having him evaluated for Speech therapy. We have agreed that we are going to do it, but have not actually taken the steps to set up the appointment. I think that John and I both keep hoping, "Maybe today he will say something..."
John is loving work. He has a great schedule that allows him to keep Tristan two days of the week. Then the other three Tristan stays with a Nanny. John says that this might change in October though because that apparently is when the new schedule will be coming out.
Work for me is going good. I gave up on any hopes of a Supervisor job when I had heard nothing about for weeks. Then about 3 weeks ago it came up again. I was unaware of this but they plan to make me the Order Entry Supervisor. I will have three people under me. I am excited about it and ready to take the position as soon as they think I am completely trained for it.
This morning, 8-14-09, John and I found out we are expecting a Baby. =) On my doctors visit after the miscarriage I was told that I would not be a high risk pregnancy. He would however, keep and eye on me because he cares. Not sure what I think of that. Anyhow, I have to make an appointment with him to confirm this pregnancy and start my normal check ups. We are very excited and hopeful. I will try to keep you as updated as possible.

Swimming With Mama

Tristan has always loved to take a bath. He loves the water. So naturally he would love swimming. Not so much! He likes it, however, after about 20 minutes he is ready to do something else. Something more exciting! I can get him to go to the pool with me for about 30 minutes and then he starts to get a little upset. I don't like being 'That Mom', so when he starts telling me it's time to go home, WE GO! =)

Isaac's Visit

At the end of July, beginning of August my 12 year old cousin, Isaac, came to Colorado. John and I showed him some of the things we thought he would like to see/do. We all went to the Water Park which was great fun! I took Isaac to the Denver Aquarium during Shark Weekend and John took him Hiking up Mt. Evans. We had a great visit and hope that he can come back again next year!

Family Reunion 09'

We had a Family Reunion on my Mom's side this past July. Everyone hasn't been together since our wedding so it was awesome! We decided to have the Reunion in Colorado which work out great for us! No travel necessary! I had fun watching Tristan play with all his cousins. I think he had a lot of fun those few days.

Shoe Goes On Your Foot...

Past Due Blogs....Coming Soon!

I know I owe everyone a few blogs. I will sit down tonight when I get home and add some updated photos and info. =) xoxo

More Pictures...

These pictures are not in order. When we got to the party all the babies started to play in the kiddie pool and we tried to get Tristan to join in. He wasn't having it (Picture #2). He fussed and cried so we took him aside and gave him some fruit (Picture #3). After all the other babies were done playing in the water, Tristan decided that maybe he was interested after all (Picture #1). So anti-social!

The Info I Promised!

We had a great weekend! Some friends of ours were nice enough to invite us to their daughters 1st Birthday party. It was great fun and perfect weather for all the guests to hang out outside. John is on his own starting tomorrow! He is going to do a great job, I know it! I have been at my new job for a week now and it has been pretty good so far. I am working for a company named Circle Graphics. They produce billboards, banners and other signs. The company is small...but they have a huge clientele. They make all their products on site. The company has recently come out with Eco-Flex which is the material the billboards or posters are printed on. It is different than other materials because this one can be recycled. All other billboard materials can not be broken down because of harmful gases that would be released into the air. Long story short, the Eco-Flex is a big deal for this company. They are growing quickly and need people to help keep up with the clients. My job at the company for now is Data Entry (glorified receptionist). I am one of the two people who receives the orders sent in by the clients and enters them into the computer system. I also download the art sent in by the clients and many other random things. My manager has something else in mind for me, however, I am not entirely sure what it is. Something about supervisor..something..something or other. I will keep you updated. =) For now I am happy where I am at. I am making good money to do a lot of multi-tasking. John is off on Mon & Tues so he gets to stay home with Tristan. On Wed, Thur & Fri Tristan stays with a girl we know. It is a great opportunity for him to play with other kids and get away from Mom & Dad for a little bit. I am pretty happy with the fact that he only has to go three days a week though. I work Monday-Friday 9-6. I wouldn't have taken the job if it wasn't normal hours/days. Since Johns schedule will always be some what different, I wanted Tristan to have something that was constant and normal. I feel very lucky to have gotten this job and it has been/will be a great thing for us. Now we can start thinking about getting a house and some other things we have been putting off for awhile now.
I haven't been to the doctor yet. I was supposed to go the day I started working so I had to cancel the appointment. I am going to try and make another one in the near future. I feel confident that everything is fine but we are eager to make sure. =)

These photos were taken 31 May 09.

Tater Tots

Tristan is a walking fool, I start work on Tuesday May 26th & John is getting moved up in his training program because he is doing so well! We are very excited about all the new changes and I will give you more detailed information soon! This video was Taken 12 May 2009.

My Little Helper

Helping Mom with dishes is Tristan's new thing. When I open the dishwasher he comes running/crawling into the kitchen. I don't mind the help! Tristan and I went to a BBQ put on by one of the guys at Johns Dept this past Saturday, May 1st. They of course had some fire trucks there that we just had to get his picture with to irritate his Daddy! It was cold and misty...What happen to my sunshine & warm weather?! Both Pictures were taken 1 May 2009.

Spring Bug

Tristan and his handsome self! We went to the park on one of the prettier days last week. Tristan was happy in the stroller, but not so much when I took him out. I hope he gets over that soon. I plan on swimming often with him this summer. He loves water, so I think he will enjoy it. Tristan has started with a new sound/word......"Oh". We really are not to sure what he is trying to tell us, but we are happy he is expanding his 'vocabulary'!

A Turn Of Events

John and I found out yesterday that we had a miscarriage at about 13 weeks 4 days. We both understand that things like this happen and that there isn't much that can be done. We are both doing okay and still plan to have another baby in the future. As for now, we ask that you keep us in your prayers. The next week or so is going to be a little difficult. We are still going to have to go to the hospital and deal with this. Thank you for your love and support!

Tristan Is Walking!

This has been a busy few weeks for us. Tristan has allergies, we think. He woke up one morning with puffy watery eyes and a very runny nose. We went to see the doctor who informed us the Tristan needed allergy testing and that he also had an ear infection. They gave us medicine for both and sent us on our way. The next week we went in for his allergy testing and were told by the doctor that he had to be off the allergy medicine for 5 days before he could be tested. What a waste! I was pretty upset with the useless doctors visit we had just made and paid for. So off the medicine he is and we go in for allergy testing on April 16, 09. Today was his regular 15 month check up, lucky for him he only needed one shot! Tristan has been very good with shots though, I can only hope that will continue as he gets older. Tristan started Walking! He took his first steps April 7th. It was an exciting morning! He still prefers to crawl, but he has shown us he knows how to walk! I have been trying to get a good video of him, but he seems to know what I'm doing and he wont perform for the camera! I also have a doctors appointment today. Nothing exciting, just a check up. =) However, I should be making the appointment for our next ultrasound. The ultrasound that we hope will tell us if we are having a boy or a girl.

John's Badge

John did it! He has his badge! We are all very proud of him! It was an awesome ceremony and lots of fun to watch all the new Officers get their badges. Tristan was kept busy throughout the ceremony with food! He did a great job and so did his Aunt Mellie! She took care of him so I could take pictures. As you can see from the picture John's Dad also works for Thornton. He used to be a Officer then a horrible car accident took him off the road. Now he works as the Armorer for the entire PD, a one man job. The Thornton Police Chief was introducing all the new Officers & couldn't help but laugh when Jeff was called up to pin on Johns badge. "Keeping it in the family!", He said.
My doctors appointment also went very well. The doctor was able to find the babies heart beat after looking around for a little bit. The heart rate was 179, pretty fast in my book! They also told me that my next ultrasound will be at 20 weeks along. So we have about another 8 weeks before we find out what we are having. I can wait.

Busy March 16Th

Busy, Busy, Busy! An I like it!!! Most of the time, some times I need a breather.

John is in his last week of his Mini-Academy for Thornton. He will be getting his Police Badge on Monday, March 16Th. I didn't know they have someone pin the badge on him, apparently they do. John has asked his Dad to do the honors. I am very excited and plan on being very camera happy throughout the ceremony! I know John is excited about getting out on the road. He will be riding with a training officer for about three and a half months before he is actually on his own. I'm okay with that, I like the idea of him riding with another officer. That way he his back up is always there with him.

I have been spotting since about week five of this pregnancy. (Now in week 11) My doctor did an ultrasound in week six. He said that the baby was in the right spot and measuring the correct age therefore there was nothing to worry about. He told me to just take it easy. Well since then I have been spotting randomly. I stopped running, I don't eat certain foods...and all that jazz. However, the spotting continues and at random. I don't know what causes it. I have my next doctors appointment on March 16Th. Hopefully he will take a little more interest in my situation this time. Its starting to get really frustrating. Other than the spotting this pregnancy, just like with Tristan, has been easy.

Tristan is busy in his own little world that includes chasing the cats around, chewing on Lego's, climbing on everything and of course licking his books. Tristan has gotten to the point where he can feed himself. Not with a spoon, but he can pick up food to eat it. This past trip to the grocery store we bought a lot of self feeding friendly foods. I don't feel to good about his variety though. I guess kids aren't as worried about that though. Tristan is a good eater. If anyone around him is eating anything, he wants some! He loves veggies and fresh fruit. Not to crazy about the Gerber fruits or applesauce though. When he is walking around on the furniture he will let go and stand on his own for a few seconds. He seems to be doing this more and more. If he is ever crawling over hard floor he will pick up a bear crawl. John says that is a sign he is getting closer to walking. We will see.

Is It Spring?!

A Beautiful, Beautiful Dare I say it, Spring Day!

College & Reading

I got a hold of the local Community college yesterday and I am going to try and start taking classes. I'm not sure yet how its all going to work out but hopefully the GI Bill is going to help out a lot. After I apply and get accepted they are going to have me take a test to see what classes would be best for my Math and English skills. I don't know if they do this for everyone or just people who have been out of school for awhile, but I'm glad they are doing it. I was kinda worried about getting stuck in a class that was way above me!  I really hope this all works out. Since the job market just isn't really being very kind, I think this will be the next best thing. I have no idea what I'm going to study. I am going to start with the basic classes and hopefully figure something out. I have never had to think about what I wanted to be when I grow up cause I thought for so long I was going to stay in the Army for 20 years. I'll figure it all out! Slowly!

Tristan is amazing! Everyday it's something new with him. He is at a point where he likes to Go Go Go! The park is our friend right now. Tristan loves the walk over and exploring everything there. I can't wait to get him in the swimming pool this summer! He loves water and is going to love the pool no doubt. Swimming leasons are going to be a must for him this summer. Tristan has alot of books and he loves all of them. He flips through the pages and looks at the pictures. He also likes to lick the pages as he turns them!  He is silly! I have had to put a few of his books away because he has gotten them so soggy they were falling apart! This is a short, non eventful video of Tristan "reading" on 28 Feb 09.
