College & Reading

I got a hold of the local Community college yesterday and I am going to try and start taking classes. I'm not sure yet how its all going to work out but hopefully the GI Bill is going to help out a lot. After I apply and get accepted they are going to have me take a test to see what classes would be best for my Math and English skills. I don't know if they do this for everyone or just people who have been out of school for awhile, but I'm glad they are doing it. I was kinda worried about getting stuck in a class that was way above me!  I really hope this all works out. Since the job market just isn't really being very kind, I think this will be the next best thing. I have no idea what I'm going to study. I am going to start with the basic classes and hopefully figure something out. I have never had to think about what I wanted to be when I grow up cause I thought for so long I was going to stay in the Army for 20 years. I'll figure it all out! Slowly!

Tristan is amazing! Everyday it's something new with him. He is at a point where he likes to Go Go Go! The park is our friend right now. Tristan loves the walk over and exploring everything there. I can't wait to get him in the swimming pool this summer! He loves water and is going to love the pool no doubt. Swimming leasons are going to be a must for him this summer. Tristan has alot of books and he loves all of them. He flips through the pages and looks at the pictures. He also likes to lick the pages as he turns them!  He is silly! I have had to put a few of his books away because he has gotten them so soggy they were falling apart! This is a short, non eventful video of Tristan "reading" on 28 Feb 09.

First Zoo Visit

Tristan's first visit to the zoo was exactly like I had expected it to be. John and I knew he wasn't ready to go but it was 'Free Day', so we figured why not?! He didn't pay any attention to the animals. There was a very large Sea Lion sun bathing and yelling at everyone that he didn't notice. For the first time ever since I have been going to the zoo, the Elephants were playing with each other and making a ton of noise. Tristan was more interested in his juice! It did turn out to be a beautiful day though, so I'm glad we went.

Find The Ball

Tristan is showing me that all my nagging about where these stupid balls are is starting to pay off! This was a great Birthday present from my son. He never disappoints his mama! After I took this one I tested him with book and he knew those as well. This video was taken 17 Feb 09.

Yummy Mexican Food

Tristan has just gotten to the point where he can eat anything we eat. This is the first time we have been to a Mexican restaurant since we moved out to Colorado. So this was of first opportunity to let him have a taste. He enjoyed it very, very much! This video was taken on 7 Feb 09.

Make Way!

Santa brought this for Christmas and this was the first time Tristan has ever walked with it by himself. Unfortunately I am slow and caught him at the end of his "journey". I will keep trying to get a longer one. This was taken on 7 Feb 09.

A Day At The Park

I took the test for Colorado Department Of Education yesterday. Come to find out 110 people are being tested for the job and they are giving interviews to only the top three test scores. I don't think I did bad on the test however, I have never been the top anything when it comes to tests. I don't expect to be one of the three who recieves an interview.

Tristan is playing in the park here, his first time in the sand. The park I normally take him to has wood chips or something of that sort on the ground. Tristan is infamous for drool, he has been drooling since he was three months old and started getting teeth. Hasn't stopped drooling ever since. While we were playing he was chewing on his hand and of course stuck his hand in the sand. Oh My! I wasn't fast enough an before I knew it he had taken his hand back up to his mouth! Gross! I don't think he was to happy about it either. I think I'll just stick to the wood chips.
